North African Geography
North Africa is a big part of Africa that is comprised of the Sahara desert and a few popular countries such as Egypt, Libya and Sudan. The Saharan desert covers 8.2 million square meters so it obviously covers quite a large portion of North Africa or even Africa as a whole. North Africa runs more horizontally than vertically. The countries in North Africa have little to no water for use due to the dryness of the desert.
The Sahara desert was formed by mountains eroding away and turning into great amounts of sand that now covers the Sahara. Egypt is very involved with the Sahara as they make pyramids and tombs out of the desert sand. The Sahara is not all dry and hot. It has a massive river running through it called the Nile River. The Nile River supports life and is continously fed water from the mountains down south in the rainforest.
The climate in North Africa is dry and hot. There is not very good living conditions for animals that were once domesticated in Europe so when the Europeans tried to conquer Africa, they had a hard time prospering from what they took. The climate does not support much life, but does contain a few creatures that have adapted to these climates such as lizards, scorpians, camels etc.
